2,717 feet. More than 160 floors. Views that stretch 60 miles. The Burj Khalifa tower, which opened Monday, in Dubai, has become the tallest building in the world. Designed by Chicago architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the glittering concrete and glass tower features a mélange of nightclubs, mosques, luxury suites, an Armani hotel, and even the world’s highest swimming pool. At this record-breaking structure there is plenty to marvel at and nearly too much to do. Though you may not be able to see it’s every feature in one visit, the 40 mile per hour elevators will at least let you try.—
